I know, I know. Long time no post here. Things have been a bit all over the place as of late, but here I am with some holiday themed questions courtesy of Katy at Oh So Geeky to get things going again!
Advent Calendar: Traditions you celebrate during December?
I honestly am still working out my own traditions – we aren’t very Christmas heavy here in the family household so mostly we go to see a movie and have a good meal. Those are enough traditions for me at the moment!
Carols: What’s your favorite song(s)?
My favorite holiday song in general is usually “Carol of the Bells” because it can be done in so many ways, but right now I’m really obsessed with Leslie Odom Jr’s cover of “My Favorite Things”.
Coal: A naughty character you’d send coal to?
Right now the first to come to mind is that terrible charmer Negan on The Walking Dead. He’d find the humor in it, right? Or more likely I’m a goner. Hello, Lucille.
Fireplace: Favorite Christmas movie that melts your heart?
I’m one of those people who always claims Die Hard as my favorite Christmas film, but what melts my heart? That would probably be It’s a Wonderful Life!
Gingerbread: What’s your favorite holiday snack?
Probably peppermint bark! Or this one ginger snap ice cream on of our local shops makes. Yum.
Hot Cocoa: What’s your favorite drink?
I’m a huge fan of mulled wine or cider in the winter!
Mistletoe: Character you’d like to meet under the mistletoe?
As many fictional crushes as I claim to have, this question actually stumped me for a while. As I’ve been in the Mass Effect mindset lately I think I’ll go with my space husband Kaidan Alenko.
Mittens: A cozy outfit that keeps you warm during winter?
My go-to winter look is thick leggings with a dress or oversized sweater and my trusty boots. So cute, but so comfy.
Naughty: Three characters who’d make the Naughty list.
Aside from Negan of course, I gotta go with Ramsay Snow (A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones), Orson Krennic (our newest Star Wars villain) and…Solas from Dragon Age. Hehe.
Nice: Three characters who’d make the Nice list.
Luna Lovegood, Tara Maclay and Kara Danvers!
North Pole: If you could spend Christmas anywhere (even fictional), where would you go?
Narnia! I mean come on, they even have Santa there hanging out when not under ice queen rule. I hope they have wifi.
Presents: A book or movie on your wishlist?
I have a ton of these, but a big one is the Court of Thorns and Roses book series that’s been on my list for a while.
Rudolph: What’s your favorite TV holiday special?
Do the Christmas episodes of Bob’s Burgers count? Far as actual holiday specials go, I gotta go with the I Love Lucy one that aired recently! It never fails to make me giggle.
Santa: A character you’d love to exchange presents with? What would you get them?
Yet again, Kara Danvers! I love her and feel like she would be the best as gift giving – even if she’d probably get wrapped up saving the world and do her shopping last minute. I would get her a plane ticket to go visit Cat Grant wherever she is, because I feel like she could use the talk with everything going on this season.
Scrooge: A villain you’d help see life in a different way?
This one is tough, maybe with my Westworld obsession I’d try and have a talk with the Man in Black. For those who haven’t watched yet, I’ll spare you any spoilers but let’s just say there was so much hope for him once.
Snowflake: Something that makes you feel special.
This is such a cat lady answer, but honestly the way my kitten is so attached sometimes is pretty special. Also, when people actually engage with me on social media or in Twitch chat!
Tree: What do you decorate your house with for the season?
Nothing too much really, just some pretty lights.
Yuletide: The top 3 things in your life that make you the most happy?
Right now it’s reading a fun comic in bed, chatting with friends (online & offline) about nerdy stuff and getting to play video games I’ve been wanting to try for ages.
Ugly Christmas Sweater: Would you wear a sweater Molly Weasley made you or avoid it like the plague?
Heck yes, I would wear all her sweaters and I’m sad that others might not. As someone who once took up knitting as a hobby but never had the patience to make anything, I value handmade clothing a lot.
This was a lot of fun to fill out, I hope you enjoyed and maybe got some fun visuals of Negan with his stocking of coal. Feel free to share your own answers or other thoughts in the comments below. Wishing each of you a wonderful holiday season and happy new year!
